A few days ago, I talked with one of our first time visitors who has started coming back regularly.
He left “church” years ago. His wife had just become a Christian and he started to come with her.
Coming to church for the first time produced some interesting emotions.
Here are his words describing his emotions:
- Scary
- Intimidating
- Would he fit in?
- Didn’t know anybody
- Didn’t know what to expect
He arrived in a state of stress.
But our hospitality was one of the factors in his return.
He’s now returns regularly and is involved in small group for seekers.
Do your church visitors come back?
Do your visitors return? Do they feel safe enough to come back?
You should consider doing a quarterly review of your hospitality ministry.
It is a chance to:
- Refresh the vision
- Renew your passion for welcoming guests
- Review any steps in the process that are beginning to slide
- Celebrate what God is doing in your midst as visitors come back and connect.
I’ve put together a short tutorial of articles to consider:
At that location, you’ll see the 10 most looked at articles on EvangelismCoach.org related to church hospitality and welcome issues.
With over 900 articles to choose from, finding a starting point has become a problem.
I’ve assembled that little short link list to help you.
